This page is intended to give you a quick, easy menu system to get a general idea of the weather. Covering our butts here, but it should obviously not replace your official weather briefing, and those of us here at PilotsUnited.com do not accept responsibility for the validity of the information.
The sets in the "Weather Package" menu system contain 5-10 charts, but they download within 3 seconds using broadband access. If download time is an issue for you, check out the "Individual Charts" menu for single chart pages. Additionally, use the "Weather Links" to go to Weather.com (The Weather Channel's excellent site) or the Air Resource Lab of the NOAA, which has every chart you could ever want. Most of the pages at these sites are one-chart-per-page, so download time might be reduced. For those of us willing to spend $30 a month to not have to hear "ooooo-squeeeeeeeellllllllll, eeeeechhhhhh-bboboooommmbbb-boommmmbbbbb" and then actually have to wait for things to load can take full advantage of the packages in the other menus.
The official site for United Weather is WSI Pilot Brief. Weather.com, The Weather Channel's website, has very many weather charts in an easy to read format. For even more technical weather information, visit www.dispatcher.org and the NOAA website. These two sites are incredibly deep in their weather information.
If you are using a dialup access, go to Weather.com and you can view individual charts one at a time without having to download charts you are not interested in.
When data from other sites fils this frame, the submenus will not drop down. To get back to the menus you can click on the Weather link in the navigation bar (aka, the top menu). Alternatively, just click on any of the menu items and it will bring you back to this page. You can then use the menus again. If the weather menus disappear (some sites "hijack" a browser window, which erases the popup menus), you'll need to click on the Weather link in the navigation bar to get them back.
By the way, you already downloaded the looping surface conditions graphic when you loaded the front page of the site, so this one's a freebie! (The size of the file is consistent, the only thing I do is make it really small for the front page and slightly big for this page.)
